Have you ever wanted to wander the set of Jurassic Park? Now you can explore the next best thing at Pangaea, a new dinosaur experience at OdySea in the Desert in Scottsdale, Arizona! As a Scottsdale-based printer, Artisan not only printed but was also able to install an entire building’s worth of custom wall graphics from another world for Pangaea, to help immerse visitors in the dino-centric experience.
What’s Pangaea: Land of the Dinosaurs?
Pangaea: Land of the Dinosaurs is an indoor interactive exhibit and educational center located at OdySea in the Desert. Complete with more than 50 life-size animatronic dinosaurs that roam through exhibits and true-to-life recreations of prehistoric habitats, Pangaea is designed to transport guests back to the age of the dinosaurs.
Artisan Colour is the preferred printer at OdySea in the Desert. Quite a few large format printing projects such as window wraps, exhibit signage, menus, and more are shown in this previous blog post. Pangaea is our most extensive custom wall graphics project by far! We printed 7,000+ square feet of wallpaper on 3m vinyl.
Exterior Custom Wall Graphics
When arriving at OdySea, look for the dinosaurs! First, you’ll see some exterior graphics on outside walls of Pangaea. These exterior wall graphics can withstand sun and heat, and we get plenty of both here in Scottsdale! In addition to being a great way to cover up walls, life-like graphics are a great way to draw people in, and also make for a great photo op with the kids!
Interior Dino Wall and Floor Graphics
Artisan installed custom wall and floor graphics throughout the entire Pangaea exhibit. With the addition of colored spotlights and moving dinosaurs, the effect is pretty spectacular!
Finally, we printed some critters to stick to the floor. These floor graphics were then painted with a clear sealant to protect them from wear and tear.
Isn’t it incredible? In addition to the great environmental graphics and decor, the exhibit also has informational panels about different types of dinos and interactive stations including a fossil dig and dino ride.
